The purpose of this study is to explore development feasibility of a 19-feet-wide by 100-feet-long site located at 150 East Ontario Street, in the heart of Chicago’s prime shopping/living district. The success of architectural design on such narrow site will hinge on its technical integrity, overall quality, and financial sustainability. Objectively, the owner/buyer or future developer of 150 East Ontario Street should gain by the following a general understanding, or vision of what could be achieved by applying sensible design solutions.

The design’s primary objective was to offer a wide array of different typologies (studio up to 4B). Such mixity of typology offers flexibility and ease at adapting to tenant’s needs. Hence appartments can be arranged in flat, and upward or downward duplexes, with variable depth options for terraces. Based on market demand the building may easily turn into either residential or commercial, or mix.
